By the twenty-seventh century, mankind has finally mastered time travel—and is driving recklessly towards wiping itself out. But the enigmatic Ashday’s Child has his own destiny to accomplish, and will do whatever it takes within a complicated web of paradoxes to do so. While his destiny—and very existence—is challenged from the beginning to the end of time, he must collect the key players through the ages to create the very Timeshaft itself.
“Do our actions as time travellers change what would otherwise have happened, or is everything already laid down in a predetermined plan?” he asks. Title: Beween Two Worlds
Author: Christy Santo
Genre: Time Travel

Rebecca dreams her present time and lives her past.
It is 2006 and Indiana University graduate student Rebecca Harrison attends a Halloween party. Unknown to her she will have her world turned upside down when she leaves it. An unexpected accident rips her from 2006 Indiana and abandons her in 1983 Fanwood, New Jersey her hometown. She struggles to relive the past and exist as another woman with the same name and birthday as her. Can she find a way to return to her present time or will her past become her future?

After falling down the stairs at a Halloween party, Rebecca finds herself not at university in Indiana in 2006 but in Fanwood in 1983. The time slip has unexpected consequences, and now Rebecca has to find a way to live in the past, being a differnet person yet with the same name and birthday. Can she find a way to get back to her own time?

An intriguing book that poses a lot of interesting questions about time travel. I loved Rebecca and it hurt to see her struggle to adapt to her new life in the past, but she also learned from her experience and became a better, stronger person because of it.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Book Excerpt A Thistle Beyond Time

Book Excerpt

Jenna was running the vacuum cleaner when Dylan returned with Cormac. She didn’t hear them enter and when she finally did look up, she jumped, clutching her chest. “You scared me!” Her heart was racing in her chest.
“Sorry, cuz,” Dylan apologized, with a sheepish grin on his face. Jenna looked around Dylan and an angry scowl lit across her features as she spied “I thought I told you to take him to a shelter! What didn’t you understand about that?” She snapped.
“I couldn’t do that to him, Jenna. He’s from another country and he doesn’t know anyone here. He’s a good guy, really. We just spent the last hour having breakfast and getting to know each other.”
“Dylan, I know what you’re up to, so you can stop right now.” Letting go of the vacuum, Jenna crossed her arms over her chest.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Dylan replied.
“I know this is all a practical joke. I don’t know how you pulled it off and I don’t know where you got this guy from, but I can’t believe you would do that to me. You know how upset I’ve been lately and when he appeared out of nowhere, well… I thought he was a serial killer or something.”
“I would never harm ye, lass.” Cormac said, as he peeked around from behind.
“I know that now, but at the time I was pretty scared.”
“I apologize to ye. I didnae mean to scare ye.”
“It wasn’t a practical joke, Jenna. This guy, Cormac, is from Scotland and he was sent here by a witch. That’s the Edna he mentioned. Anyway, he’s not even from this time. He’s from the sixteenth century. Can you believe it?” Dylan asked excitedly.
“No. I can’t believe it and I don’t. Nice work trying to convince me of something completely impossible. Have you been taking acting classes lately, Dylan, ‘cause you’re pretty good. If I didn’t know you better, I might even believe you.”
“It’s true, Jenna. I’m not making it up. Tell her Cormac.”“He’s telling the truth, lass. Edna sent me from the year 1514. She said ye were to be me wife.”
“Now don’t start that again. You both need to give it up. I don’t believe you. There’s no such thing as time travel. Period. The end.”
“Okay. I won’t mention it again, but we’re not lying and time travel is totally possible, you’ll see,” Dylan insisted.

Book Excerpt A Bridge Through Time Tour

Book Excerpt

The man watched her with a bewildered expression on his handsome face.  She had to be dreaming.  Ashley closed her eyes for a second and looked again.  He was still there.  She quickly glanced around and spoke to no one in particular.  "I can't be awake.  It's not possible."
"Ye are awake, lass.  Dinnae fash; I willnae harm ye."  It seemed the object of her imagination sensed her anxiety and wanted to put her at ease.
"Oh my, this is really weird."
"Weird?"  He looked confused by the word – as though he’d never heard it used before.
"Never mind.  I'm sorry; I seem to have forgotten my manners.  Thank you again, for saving me.  I don't know what would have happened if you didn't show up when you did."  She shuddered at the thought.
"I heard yer screams and when I saw that man trying to run off with ye, I couldnae let him harm ye."
"And I thought chivalry was dead."
He cocked an eyebrow and tipped his head quizzically.
Ashley realized she was staring at him again, as if he were an apparition, and shook her head impatiently.  "It's nothing really.  My name is Ashley, by the way."
She held out her hand, but instead of shaking it, he merely held it gently in his much larger one.  He looked as confused as Ashley felt.
"I'm pleased to meet ye, Ashley Bytheway.  I am Cailin MacBayne of the Clan MacKenzie, at yer service."  He lifted her hand to his lips and softly kissed it.
Ashley thought she might faint for a second time, but took a deep breath and tried to get her rebellious body under control.
"My last name is ‘Moore’, not ‘by the way’.  Ashley Moore," she laughed.  "I love your accent."

Book Review The Map of Time

Title:The Map of Time
Author: Felix J. Palma
Genre: Time Travel, Historical Fiction
Rating: 7/10
Set in Victorian London with characters real and imagined, The Map of Time boasts a triple play of intertwined plots in which a skeptical H.G. Wells is called upon to investigate purported incidents of time travel and to save lives and literary classics, including Dracula and The Time Machine, from being wiped from existence.

What happens if we change history? The author explores this question in the novel, weaving an historical fantasy as imaginative as it is exciting—a story full of love and adventure that transports readers to a haunting setting in Victorian London for their own taste of time travel.
This was a very cool book! Author Felix Palma wove together three separate stories and used the historical character of H.G. Wells and the mystery of time travel to bring them together. We meet Andrew, a suicidal man who is still upset over losing the love of his life, a Whitechapel whore who became the target of Jack The Ripper.

Palma's writing is beautiful - it effortlessly draws you into the events and into the lives and minds of the characters and keeps you spellbound until the final sentence. A few parts were a bit confusing - not because of the writing or the events - but because the logic around time travel and what would happen if you traveled through time yourself. The story rambled on a bit here and there as well.
