"Charter to Redemption" is an inspiring romance story about Emma Colchester, who is forced to marry a man she doesn't know in an arranged marriage. Saved from drowning by handsome and charming Tobias, she heads out to meet her soon-to-be husband for the first time. But when she realizes she's been misled, and things have been kept a secret for her, she longs for a friend in this brand new world, and she might find that in Tobias.
The writing is gorgeous, and the characters are lively and intriguing. I adored Emma, who felt bound by duty when others would've long given up, who was driven forth by an almost otherworldly determination even when all odds were against her. Tobias was a great character as well, complex and engaging, struggling with his feelings for Emma every step of the way.
A great mix of historical fiction and romance.
